Field Specialist – Exhibition Station

O'Hara Search Group (OSG) is proud to partner with Bantrel in the search for a Field Specialist – Exhibition Station to join its Infrastructure team.


This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Ontario Line Project, one of the most significant transit infrastructure projects currently underway in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction activities at Exhibition Station while ensuring compliance with project requirements related to safety, quality, schedule, and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Delivery Partner's on-site representative for Parent Company (PCo) construction activities at Exhibition Station.
  • Oversee field construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to field specialists in matters related to construction, quality, and safety.
  • Facilitate the review of Work Plans, Risk Assessments, and Deviation Requests.
  • Ensure compliance with rail corridor access requirements and project procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of site activities, observations, and progress.
  • Review contractor submittals and construction deliverables, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance with project requirements relating to health and safety, environmental standards, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate project risks and issues as required.
  • Maintain tracking systems for Safety Work Plans, Risk Assessments, and access prerequisites.
  • Support the resolution of non-conformances and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with technical discipline leads to address field issues and implement project direction.
  • Validate contractor progress reporting through regular site observations and verification activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure, transportation, or transit construction environments.
  • Previous experience in construction supervision, field engineering, site inspection, or construction management roles on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, quality management processes, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety excellence.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and industry quality standards.
  • Project-specific training will be provided following mobilization to support Metrolinx role competency requirements and ongoing career development within Bantrel.

Compensation

Base Salary: $95,000 – $145,000 CAD

Bantrel offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the successful candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. The stated salary range represents base pay only and does not include additional elements of Bantrel's Total Rewards program. Final compensation will be determined based on overall experience and alignment with role requirements.
