This full‑time, permanent role may be based in Saskatoon or Bethune, Saskatchewan, supporting Bantrel’s expanding project delivery presence and long‑term commitment to the province.

Bantrel is currently working with K+S Potash Canada (K+S) as part of an Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) to support the expansion of the Bethune solution potash mine near Moose Jaw and Regina. Planned production is expected to increase over the coming decades to approximately 4 million tonnes per year, doubling current output. Project support will be provided from the K+S head office in Saskatoon and the Bethune site, with additional support from Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto as required.


Work Location

This position is primarily site‑based in Bethune, Saskatchewan.


While preference will be given to candidates residing locally, relocation assistance or Living Out Allowance (LOA) may be available based on eligibility.


As a Project Manager within the IPMT, you will play a critical leadership role on a major EPC project supporting the continued expansion of the Bethune operation. This role requires a seasoned project leader who brings disciplined planning, strong integration of multidisciplinary teams, and a relentless focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule throughout all phases of project execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from concept through close‑out, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, performance testing, and handover to operations
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, health & safety obligations, and client performance expectations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client and internal leadership, maintaining strong, transparent communication throughout the project
  • Direct and supervise multidisciplinary teams; set priorities, allocate resources, and provide clear leadership to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives
  • Make timely and well‑informed decisions on project matters, including escalation and resolution of issues requiring direct leadership intervention
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on project performance, risks, variances, and mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present project status reports and performance dashboards
  • Manage EPC execution plans, commissioning readiness, and turnover documentation
  • Oversee contractor performance and manage change orders, claims, and commercial terms in alignment with contractual requirements



Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of progressive project management experience within heavy industrial, mining, energy, infrastructure, or major capital project environments
  • Proven track record delivering major capital projects in alignment with contractual obligations, cost targets, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams within EPC/EPCM project delivery models
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making capabilities, with experience resolving complex technical, commercial, and schedule‑related challenges
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience serving as the primary client interface
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to build effective relationships across engineering, construction, project controls, commercial teams, and external partners
  • Post‑secondary education in engineering or a related technical discipline (engineering degree or engineering technology diploma preferred)
  • PMP designation or equivalent considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM delivery models and stage‑gate development processes
  • Proficiency in project controls, including earned value management, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and change management
  • Experience leading projects from FEL through execution, commissioning, and handover to operations
  • Commitment to safety excellence and fostering a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement
